Circa 1745, faint blue crossed swords to the underside of the male, blue crossed swords beneath the tail of the female, modeled by J. J. Kändler and P. Reineke
Naturalistically modeled in opposition, both wearing pink belled collars with pink bows, the bitch suckling a puppy, on mound basses applieed with flowers

Lot Essay

Kändler's Taxa for June 1944 notes 2 neue Mopss Hunde auf einem Rasen sitzend, angefangen zu poussiren und selbigen die gehörige Action und Gestalt gegeben, welche hernach dem Bildhauer Reinicken vollends fertigen lassen. That for December of the same year includes a description of the female pendant, both models corresponding to the present examples.
