A LARGE PAIR OF HELLENISTIC GOLD DOUBLE LION-HEADED EARRINGS
CIRCA 300 B.C.
Each with tapering hoop of spirally wound wires terminating in two facing lion heads, the larger well-detailed and strongly modelled with luxuriant mane and with ornate beaded and filigree collar with frieze of ivy leaf tendrils and tongued border below, the opposing smaller lion-head terminal with beaded and tongued collar
