Conditions under which fancy coloured diamonds are created vary tremendously from inclusions of trace element to molecular distortion or natural irradiation. Occasionally, nature decides to offer extraordinary one-off hues within a colour, resulting in spectacular shades as can be seen in the fancy vivid green-blue diamond offered in Lot 1573. Unlike most blue diamonds which contains grey as the secondary colour, the stone offered in the sale is of a pure and unique "turquoise" blue colour. The pastel blue colour combined with an intense saturation render this stone one of its kind in the world
