A 2¾-inch diameter miniature terrestrial globe,
COX'S Terrestr.l Globe all Discoveries to FEB.1.1839., in a card drum case -- 8.5cm. (3 3/8in.) high

The globe is made up of twelve hand-coloured engraved gores. The equatorial is graduated in degrees; the Greenwich meridian is ungraduated; the ecliptic is graduated in twelve times 1-30° with sigils. The oceans show the antipodes of Greenwich and two small islands in the Antarctic circle labelled Peter and Alexander. The continents show towns, cities and rivers, with national boundaries and coastlines in red (some rubbing and minor varnish loss). Two iron axis pins fit into slots in one half of the card case, which is covered with impressed black paper, the lid with a small and indistinct decoration in the centre.
