A Saxon engraved royal armorial faceted goblet
Circa 1725, probably Dresden
The generous rounded funnel bowl engraved with the elaborate crowned coat-of-arms of Augustus the Strong, Elector of Saxony and King of Poland, surrounded by military paraphernalia, the reverse engraved with a banderole inscribed Vivat Friedrich Augustus Rex: Poloniarum, above a hunting scene, the lower part and the balustroid stem faceted, upon basal knops, the spreading foot engraved with tied banners
