Lot Essay

Domela Nieuwenhuis Nyegaard mentions three other versions of the same subject by the artist: the first, dated 1627, is in the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge; the second also 1632, is in the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam; the third, datable to circa 1633-4 is in a private collection, Copenhagen.
