A SET OF THREE BLUE AND WHITE 'LOTUS' DISHES
Kangxi (1662-1722)
Each formed as lotus flowers with nine radiating petals, similarly painted at the centres with insects in flight above a grasshopper perched on rockwork beside chrysanthemum and peony sprays, below nine lappets enclosing mandarin ducks on a lotus pond, a pair of birds beside a prunus branch, a pair of birds perched on a willow tree, and flowering branches and rockwork, below brown-glazed rims, the reverses with single upright flower sprays on each petal
