"Pelican"', half page, 8vo, on half-mourning paper, autograph envelope addressed to Beal on board H.M.S. Orlando.
Sydney Smith Dickens, who died at sea two years after his father, was destined for the navy from an early age; his apparent improvidence was ascribed by the family to a terrible fever suffered in late youth.
