Very similar bronze fittings in the shape of tiger heads are illustrated in Ancient Chinese Arts in the Idemitsu Collection, Tokyo 1989, pl.93 ; and a ram's head fitting is illustrated in W. Watson, Ancient Chinese Bronzes, Faber and Faber, London 1962, pl.79b.
