Lot Essay

In a letter to Esther Pissarro, 18 February 1917, Lucien writes, 'I have started this morning a foggy effect of about the same subject of the one I transformed into a snow scene; 19 February 1917. Meanwhile I am working I have finished the other T. 15 an effect of 'brouillard'. In fact I have only 2 more pictures to complete and I shall be able to come to town to see after things'.
