Nine gossip magazines that Marilyn herself owned and packed into a trunk as she was moving out of her Roxbury, Connecticut home when she and Arthur Miller were breaking up. MM is featured on most covers and in many articles; titles of magazines include 'Inside Hollywood' (May 1960), 'Hush-Hush' (November 1960), 'Confidential' (September 1961), 'Movie Fan' (July 1954), 'Untold Secrets' (October 1961), 'Screenland' (July 1962), 'Movie World' (March 1953), 'Movie Life' (May 1948) and 'Kroniek Van De Week' (March 1949).
Provenance
These pieces are part of a whole lot that was originally sold in the December 18, 1995 Christie's (East) auction titled "Film and Television Memorabilia;" Sale 7821, Lot 342, Page 112 of that catalogue; final price realized was $9,200; original consignor was Ralph Roberts, MM's masseuse and confidant.
