A pair of Chinese Imari 'Dame-au-Parasol' plates
painted after a design by Cornelis Pronk depicting an attendant shading her mistress with a parasol standing before waterfowl on a grassy, reeded bank within a border of cartouches containing alternating figures and fowl on an iron-red diaper ground -- 9in. (23cm.) diam, circa 1735.
