GUILLERMUS ALVERNUS, Episcopus Parisiensis (1180-1249). De fide et legibus. [Augsburg: Günther Zainer, 1475-76.]
Super-chancery 2° (302 x 210mm). Roman type, incipit in Gothic type, initials and paragraph marks in red or blue, capital strokes in red. (Lightly stained and washed, small wormholes, heavier at end with a little loss, marginal repairs.) Modern sheep-backed wooden boards, preserving pastedowns from a printed work, early catchplate (clasp replaced). Provenance: Nicholas Eichman, Berneburg altarist (contemporary inscription)
FIRST EDITION of a medieval work on church law. Polain dates it to about 1469. H *8317; GW 11863; BMC II, 323; Polain 1807; Goff G-711.
