Super-chancery 2° (305 x 208mm). Greek and roman types, printer's device, initial spaces with guide-letter, paragraph marks and capital strokes and marginal annotations in pink ink to m3. (Very occasional small stains, a little marginal spotting.) Remboîtage in early limp vellum. Provenance: contemporary corrections and annotations in a neat, humanist hand.
First edition with the commentary of the humanist scholar Beroaldus, and the first book printed by Benedictus Hectoris. He acquired the Greek type specifically to print this book. HC *15126; BMC VI, 840; Goff S-825.
