Rectangular box, the cover, four sides and base inset with mother-of-pearl panels, that on the lid carved with a basket of flowers encrusted with a small blank oval gold reserve in the centre, within a scrolling foliage border, the plain panels on sides and base engraved with chevron borders, the gold cagework mounts stamped with trailing foliage on a matted band and with narrow laurel and berry bands, slightly raised incorporated thumbpiece, the inside gold-lined, the front side wall with a lever, base with key hole, with associated key
