Paris, 1789/1790, with the discharge mark of Jean-François Kalendrin 1789-1792, the restricted census mark for gold Paris 1798-1809 and the third standard and excise marks for gold, Paris 1809-1819, and with other unidentified marks
Oblong box, the panels on cover, sides and base enamelled in translucent gun-metal grey enclosing brown simulated moss agate on a plain ground, framed by fluted gold bands, within frosted gold borders applied with trailing foliage and berries enamelled in translucent green, red and opaque white, the four frosted gold side pilasters similarly enamelled
