The miniature of Grand Duchess Elena Pavlovna is copied after a miniature formerly attributed to Augustin Ritt, illustrated in E. Lemberger, Portrait Miniatures of Five Centuries, London, [n.d.], pl. 12. The miniature of Borovsky is copied after Borovikovskii's oil portrait of 1799 in the Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow, and the miniature of Catherine II is a copy after Levitskii.
