A French porcelain inkstand
Mid 19th Century, incised G, dated 1846 to the interior
Modelled as a portly gentleman seated at a table, wearing a blue coat, striped waistcoat and beige trousers, holding a beaker and a wine bottle, the table before him strewn with food, pierced with two apertures with a sander and inkwell with cover formed as a cooked bird, on a white tablecloth edged with white scrolls, the table with four barley-twist legs, on a pinched rectangular base moulded with scrolls (minor damage and wear)
