A Zürich 'Turkish group'
Circa 1770, blue Z mark, incised .iN.
The Tartar dressed in a green sleeveless uniform with pale-yellow boots, his red-lined green cap with a gilt crescent, with a sabre in his right hand and holding the Turkish girl around the waist with his left hand, the girl with silvered jewellery and in a gilt flowered headscarf and blouse, a pale-yellow skirt and red striped apron, on a shaped circular grassy rockwork base (part of scabbard and her left thumb lacking, restoration to his cap, back of his head and her right forearm, her left forearm restuck, part of sword blade probably restored, minute chipping to ribbons, feather, hilt and her left fingers)
