Two Meissen teabowls and saucers
Circa 1725, blue crossed swords marks, gilder's gilt 73. and Dreher's to each piece
Each teabowl with two shipping scenes with figures at discussion and various pursuits on shorelines before distant galleons within shaped oval gilt cartouches with Böttger-lustre panels and gilt scrolls edged and joined at the sides with puce and iron-red scrolls, the interiors each with a bouquet of indianische Blumen within iron-red double concentric circle cartouches below elaborate borders of interlocking gilt scrolls, husks and flowerheads, one saucer with a naval battle scene, the other with galleons and boats in a port with dilapidated buildings with a tower and spire, within similar cartouches and borders, gilt line rims (one saucer with area of slight wear to ship and cartouche at 8 o'clock, other saucer with area of very slight wear to cartouche at 4 o'clock, further areas of minute wear) (2)
