A Pair of Meissen teabowls and saucers
Circa 1725, gilder's 51. to all pieces, Dreher's to teabowls and one saucer
Probably painted by J.G. Höroldt with landscapes, one saucer with a cottage before distant buildings, the other with figures before a river and distant rocky outcrops and buildings, one teabowl with two views of cottages before distant mountains, the other with a castle before a riverscape and with figures beneath a tree before distant buildings, within oval gilt line cartouches with Böttger-lustre panels and gilt, puce and iron-red scrollwork, the interiors with a circular chequered pattern medallion of iron-red hatched squares alternating with puce flowerheads, the saucers and interiors of the teabowls with gilt interlocking scrollwork and dot borders, gilt line rims (one saucer with chipping to footrim, slight rubbing to cartouches of saucers and very slight rubbing to gilt rims of teabowls) (2)
