Lot Essay

This watch is accompanied by its original LeCoultre black leather box and factory-printed price tag No. 1121064.

In the 1950s LeCoultre and Vacheron & Constantin began a partnership to produce the Galaxy model mystery watch for the American market. Under their original agreement, LeCoultre produced the movements and dials and Vacheron & Constantin produced the cases.

This model remains one of the most well known watches of its era. It is especially rare to find an example with its original box and tag, and even more interesting that the number on the tag matches the number on the movement.
