A sword of Cavalry Officers' pre-1912 pattern, the slightly curved fullered blade etched for approximately two-thirds of its length, one side bearing intricate foliate decoration, the other with regimental devices of the Sussex Yeomanry and the 10th Hussars, and inscribed 'April 17th 1908. Presented by Officers and Members of "D" Squadron Sussex Imperial Yeomanry to Sergeant Major A. Geering, 10th Royal Hussars and Permanent Staff S.I.Y. to commemorate his completion of 30 years service', the regulation hilt with plated scroll-pattern guard and fishskin grip, in its plated scabbard with two suspension-rings, and with oilskin outer cover
