AN ITALIAN STONE-BOW
Late 16th Century
With slender fruitwood tiller of characteristic form curved downward behind the slender steel bow, with a prominent scroll-shaped feature carved with a lion-mask on top, and a gadrooned urn-shaped pommel at the rear, steel mounts damascened with designs in silver (rubbed) comprising fore-sight formed as two slender columns, arched back-sight, and moulded lever trigger (steel parts rust-patinated)
