AN ATTIC BLACK-FIGURED SIANA CUP
Attributed to the 'C' Painter,
Circa 570-565 B.C.
With a black line dividing the handle zone from the lip, a black band and a thin reserved band below, palmettes issuing from either side of each handle, the tondo with a horseman galloping to the left, wearing a short chiton, holding the reins and carrying a spear, preserving traces of red on the horse's neck and hindquarters, the scene encircled with a double row of dots framing a band of alternating red and black tongues
