Blanche Camus was the daughter of the painter Gustave Camus, she studied under Robert Fleury and Jules Lefebre at the École des Beaux-Arts. Blanche was a close friend of André Dunoyer de Segonzac, Henri Martin and Paul Signac. Her work reflects the sunshine of the South of France where she often worked. She exhibited this her largest and most important work, at the Salon de la Société des Artistes Français in 1913 for which she won the bronze medal in 1920 for another smaller work. She was regularly shown by her dealers Georges Petit and Marcel Berheim at Berheim-Jeune in Paris and also exhibited works in a group show in 1925 at the Carnegie Institute which travelled from New York to Pittsburg and Saint Louis.
