A Wedgwood black basalt Pegasus vase and cover
Early 19th Century, impressed upper-case mark
Oviform with serpent handles and Medusa mask terminals, the finial formed from Pegasus rising above clouds, moulded in high-relief depicting a scene from the Apotheosis of Homer, below a winged figure emblematic of Fame, the reverse with a temple, palm tree and plinth below a band of berried laurel leaves, domed foot and a square base (minor damages and losses)
