A French engraved gilt-brass grande sonnerie carriage clock with alarm, circa 1880
The foliate engraved gorge case with silvered engine-turned mask and centre to Roman and Arabic chapter ring with dot minute track, blued steel moon hands, the eight day twin barrel movement with silvered platform to lever escapement with bimetallic balance, strike/repeat/alarm on two gongs, back plate stamped B (possibly for Brunelot), with three-position sonnerie adjustment lever to underside -- 5¾in. (14.5cm.) high to hilt of handle; with brown leather travel case
