A Victorian Scottish mahogany longcase clock, third quarter 19th century
The hood with swan neck pediment and outset columns, cushion mouldings above and below the bowed short trunk door flanked by half columns, on panelled plinth with splayed legs, the 13½ in. wide painted dial with figural spandrels and Scottish castle scene to the arch, Roman chapters, with subsidiary seconds and date rings, signed W. GIBB WISHAW, brass hands, pinned directly to the eight day four pillar movement with anchor escapement and strike on bell -- 86in. (219cm.) high
