A NEW MEXICAN POLYCHROME WOOD BULTO
representing Jesus Nazareno (Jesus Nazarene), mounted on a thin board, the tall body bent slightly forward, with straight arms and wide, thick hands, a plaited fiber whip tied to each wrist, the face with long nose, open mouth, and down-cast eyes with dotted eye rims, with a straight coiffure, notched at the sides, surmounted by a braided crown of thorns, wearing a red cotton robe with twisted wool sash, attributed to Juan Miguel Herrera or Front Range Style I, (ca. 1855 - 1890)
