Sale room notice
The prime version of the present painting is by Marcellus Coffermans and is in the Bass Museum of Art, Miami Beach, Florida. There are at least fourteen versions known all with variations. Most notable is a similar painting (5 x 7 in.) that includes the Joseph figure, formerly in the Tripp collection and sold by Hanzel Galleries, Chicago on 1 May 1988.
