A group of three scrimshaw teeth engraved with portraits of George Washington, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson**
Anonymous (American, early 20th century)
Each of the three teeth is engraved with the image of a former President of the United States. The tooth with George Washington is engraved on the back with a portrait of the ship Mount Vernon. The tooth engraved with the image of John Adams has a depiction of the U.S.F. Constellation capturing the French ship L'Insurgente. The tooth depicting the image of Thomas Jefferson also depicts an image of the ship U.S.F. President. All of the engravings appear to be by the same hand.
