CIRCA 1825, THE DERBY EXAMPLE WITH IRON-RED CROWNED D MARK
The first painted and gilt with scrolling foliage against a dark-blue ground, spreading branches and terracing interspersed with scattered iron-red mons, with richly-gilt handles and lion-mask terminals, on four richly-gilt paw feet; the second printed, painted and gilt with loose bouquets of flowers within gilt cartouches, reserved against a puce octagonal-patterned ground, the branch-moulded handles ending in leaf terminals highlighted with puce veins, the stand similarly decorated with leaf and shell-moulded handles, within shaped rims (the first with minor staining to interior, light rubbing to gilding and minute chipping to cover flange, the second with light rubbing to gilding and very minor hairline cracks to tureen)
