Two works in one volume, 8° (182 x 122mm). Engraved title by Elstrack to first work, separate letterpress title to Certaine pieces dated 1615, 4 half-page emblematic engravings, type-ornament head- and tailpieces, decorative initials. (Engraved title lightly soiled, repaired neat tear in F2-4.) UNCUT in contemporary vellum wrapper; 20th-century leather chemise and blue straight-grained morocco pull-off case (case lightly scuffed at extremities). Provenance: purchased from Rosenbach, Philadelphia, 30 January 1946, $285.

SECOND EDITION, AUGMENTED FOR THE FIRST TIME BY THE SECOND PART. The second edition appears to consist of the same printed sheets as the first edition with a title page re-engraved stating 'The second edition much inlarged', and with the addition of part II. A VERY FINE COPY IN ORIGINAL CONDITION WITH UNCUT PAGES AND RETAINING ITS TEMPORARY VELLUM WRAPPER. Grolier, Langland to Wither, 203; STC 21869 and 21871a.7 (9 copies only).
