WILDE, Oscar (1854-1900). Autograph letter signed to an unidentified recipient ('Dear Sir'), 16 Tite Street, n.d. The laissez-faire tone of the letter suggests that Wilde is referring to publicity material, rather than to an edition of his novel. The Picture of Dorian Gray was first published in Lippincott's Monthly Magazine in 1890, and in book form in 1891. In view of the watermark, this letter may refer to the 1895 edition, published by Ward, Lock and Bowen. The letter is apparently unpublished.
