Of inverted baluster outline, the finials and bases cast with rocaille ornament, the underside of the base plate stamped 'Number 4554', the other stamped '4554 Raingo'

Lot Essay

The Raingo dynasty was founded by the horloger Raingo, who fled Paris around 1800, possibly because of Royalist affiliations. Settling initially in Gand, Belgium, he is later listed as clockmaker to the duc de Chartres in 1825. The firm became Raingo fr/geres was founded circa 1825 and flourished as fondeurs throughtout the 19th Century.
