An English small oak electric longcase timepiece, circa 1968
The case with glazed trunk and sides, on plain plinth raised on adjustable brass feet, the plastic dial plate applied with a skeletonised chapter ring, inscribed on a plaque above TEMPUS FUGIT, a further spot-finished brass plaque on the backboard inscribed ALVUMNI ATQUE MAGISTRI MACHINARVM/STUDIORUM COLLEGI TECHNICI/CROYDONIENSIS FECERVNT/MCMLXVIII, the steel rod pendulum with cylindrical brass bob suspended from an iron bracket on the backboard also mounted with the movement, with spirit level to the baseboard -- 70in.
