A Short Sword (Wakizashi) Attributed to Kunimune and a Dagger (Tanto)
The first Muromachi period (late 16th century), the second Edo period (19th century), signed Izumi (no) kami Kanesada Oite Hokuetsu Yoshishige saku
The short sword of hira-zukuri configuration with iori-mune back, o-gissaki point and saki-zori curvature and bo-hi ni tsure-hi carved on both sides, forged in an itame pattern with hints of masame and a suguha tempered edge with a jizo tip, tang shortened with katte-sagari file marks and one mekugi-ana and the remains of an older mekugi-ana; the dagger moroha configuration with a nashiji forging pattern and deep notare tempered edge, tang unshortened with sujikai file marks and one mekugi-ana; both in wood storage scabbards
