The hood with lunette arch pediment and painted wood frieze panel depicting town houses with a canal beyond, two further painted panels to the sides depicting a sailboat and a courting couple respectively, ebonised pilasters to the front, the tail with repoussé brass vase mount to the lenticle, the painted iron dial with floral spandrels to arcaded chapter ring and with scene of a country house to the arch, brass hands with alarm-setting disc, the short duration train movement with anchor escapement, countwheel strike and alarm on bell
