Modelled with a bear rising behind a hive with bees entering from the right, the backplate modelled with trees, the front with 'BEAR BRAND HONEY' in painted lettering

Lot Essay

This mobile belongs to a set of four originally commisioned by the Bee-Hive Honey Company for their processing works at Isleworth, Middlesex in the 1920's. Subsequently changing its name to Gale's, the original founding partners eventually sold the business for real estate development.
