The same label of the Ayr cabinet-makers, Messrs. Gordon and Watson, who were listed in the High Street in W. MacArter's,Directory of Ayr, 1829, also features on an early l9th century chest-of-drawers in the National Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh (Regional Furniture Journal, 1993 p.9).
