Lot Essay

The design of these stools are reminicent of the window-seats supplied by George Bullock (d.1818) to Mathew Robinson Boulton for Great Tew Park, Oxfordshire, in 1817. The latter were sold at Christie's House Sale, 27-29 May 1987, lot 31.
