Contemporary roan-backed boards, spine decorated in gilt, gilt morocco lettering-piece, top edge gilt, fabric marker, original wrappers bound in (extremities a little rubbed). Provenance: Miss Kindersley (presentation inscription from Harry Crosby dated Paris, 8 December 1924 on flyleaf)--occasional annotations to the text.

FIRST EDITION. PRESENTATION COPY WITH LENGTHY INSCRIPTION FROM CROSBY AND MANUSCRIPT 'CROSBY CROSS' IN HIS HAND. Crosby's inscription reads: 'Dear Miss Kindersley This is a little book of my favourite poems I had published for fun. I thought it might amuse you to read some of them. I often wonder where and when we shall meet again and whether you are as beautiful as ever. Merry Christmas and many thoughts from Harry Crosby'. Crosby has also added the words 'To Harry Caresse' (the last two in the form of a 'Crosby Cross') to the original upper wrapper, below the title. Unusually, this copy does not bear the 'Printed for private use only' inkstamp (cf. the following lot). Minkoff A1.
