4o (167 x 121 mm). (Trimmed with loss of some headlines and last lines of text in the final gathering.) Early 19th-century vellum, sides panelled in dark brown ink, stamped floral ornament at each corner, endpapers watermarked 1802 (a bit soiled).

FIRST EDITION IN ENGLISH. Il Pastor Fido, and particularly this translation, greatly influenced the development of Stuart pastoral literature.
