Rubbed marks, 18th Century, the engraving 19th century
On shaped circular domed footrim, the slightly tapering body later engraved with a farmer's wedding, the hinged cover inset with a coin inscribed 'Anno 1535 Georg Dux Sax' within a band of strapwork and floral ornaments, the thumb-piece shaped as a female figure holding a globe and a horn of plenty, rubbed marks on base
