An early silver-mounted austrich cup and a cover
Apparently unmarked, except for a later Dutch duty mark, The Netherlands, circa 1611
On circular foot embossed with stylised foliate bands, domed centre and baluster stem decorated ensuite and with three openwork scroll supports, the body engraved with stylised scrolls, three foliate mounts supporting the austrich egg, the upper mount with two engraved coat-of-arms, engraved 'SVB' and '1611' and engraved with further scrolls, the later cover, with gadrooned band and surmounted by halberdier holding a shield
35 cm. high
gross 610 gr.
The arms are those of the Donia family
