of globular form probably painted in the workshop of David Rhodes in black and red enamels with a ploughshare within a scroll border and the motto God Speed The Plough, with scroll handle and leaf-moulded spout and milled rims, circa 1760-70, probably Wedgwood -- 4¾in. high; and a Whieldon-type plate sponged in green and brown glazes within shaped rims -- 9in.(22.8cm) diam., circa 1760
