Lot Essay
The present lot is a view of Hdme, a province in the central inland of Finland. It is known that Hjalmar Munsterhjelm, who is especially admired for his panoramic landscapes, painted a landscape of the lake Roine from the Finnish lakeside, which was published as a steel engraving by A. Weger in the book Travelling in Finland. As the present lot is dated 1872, it is likely that it is the model for the engraving.
