A large Japanese bronze figure of Amida Buddha, Edo period or earlier
cast seated in dhyanasana on a separate hexagonal carved lacquered and gilt wood stand, his loose robes draped around the shoulders with deep folds, his face with serene expression and pendulous earlobes below tightly curled hair, old labels to base attributing it to the Fukushima temple, the figure 16½in. (42cm.) high.
