TWO NORTH-WEST PERSIAN DAGGERS
CIRCA LATE 2ND/EARLY 1ST MILLENNIUM B.C.
The first with hilt of waisted form, open cast with a pattern of triangles, inlays missing, domed pommel decorated with openwork cruciform pattern, 10 3/8 in. (26.5 cm.) long; another similar, the long blade with pronounced mid-rib, openwork hilt and crescentic guard, 16 in. (40.7 cm.) long; a bronze blade with short pierced tang, the blade cast with multiple grooves, early 1st millennium B.C., 18 in. (45.8 cm.) long; and two Luristan bronze daggers with flanged hilts, late 2nd/early 1st millennium B.C., 17¾ in. (45 cm.) long max. (5)
